INTRODUCING KID’S KLUES™ INVENTED BY MOMS SO CAREGIVERS WILL NEVER BE CLUELESS AGAIN!
FURLONG, PA (September 25, 2001) -- When Marsha Peltz of Malvern, PA took a Caribbean cruise with her husband, she left her 2-year-old in the care of her trusted babysitter. Before leaving, she spent two weeks compiling routine and hard-to-think-of details inside a three-ring binder so the caregiver would have everything at her fingertips! Peltz knew nobody could be as thorough as "Mom", but Mom was going on vacation.
Today any Mom can create her own planner in a short period of time, not weeks, with a new product called Kid’s Klues™ –- invented by three Pennsylvania mothers -- that allows parents to easily key in data and print out all of the need-to-know details of their child(ren) and their home. Kid’s Klues gives parents total peace of mind by providing their caregiver with printed answers (eliminating the chance of reading messy handwriting!) to every conceivable situation that can arise. It’s the first product of its kind, combining easy-to-use software with an attractive and comprehensive caregiver organizer.
The most essential sections of Kid’s Klues are the Emergency Medical Information, Special Needs and Safety. One grid prompts parents to describe how to recognize the signs of an allergic reaction and how to respond if urgent care is needed. By educating the caregiver on safety matters for the child and the home, parents have the peace of mind that the “right” information has been left behind.
"Parents need to provide their caregiver with information on their children and their home so that they can prevent any situation from turning into a bad situation,” explains Anne Van Thuyne, one of the creators of Kid’s Klues and a mother of three. “We’ve heard parents say ‘my mother-in-law sits for me and she knows everything about my kids.’ Well, even grandma can’t know everything about the child. Kid’s Klues has a spot for details like allergies, phobias, fire escape routes and car seats."
Kid’s Klues handy software program allows Mom to chronicle important kid-friendly details like directions to the pediatrician; the locale of a favorite blankey; exactly what to feed baby and even how to work the home appliances! Most importantly, it’s a safety net where critical details like age, weight and social security numbers can be quickly retrieved.
This clever information system is a recent winner of the National Parenting Center’s Seal of Approval. Kid’s Klues, retailing at $49.95, comes complete with a CD-ROM, 3-ring organizer, preprinted index tabs and plastic pockets that allow parents to customize a comprehensive game plan for the caring of each child. Kid’s Klues can be purchased online at www.kidsklues.com and by phone by dialing 215-489-0390 or toll free at 1-877-Kid-Klue. The software operates on Windows 95/98/ME.
The easy-to-follow software program offers grids for a parent to fill in. There are 25 tables of information covering 10 sections of child/home care. The parent needs only to personalize it! Designed for even a novice computer user, there are prompts in each table to assist. Once all the information is filled in, the colored page is printed and inserted into the organizer. Printing of the guide is simple: print entire sections or just one page.
Kid’s Klues understands that a healthcare plan can be switched or daily routines can alter seasonally. So as the child grows, details can be updated by retyping just one sentence or one section. Since there’s no space limit, a parent can enter as much or as little information as needed on each child.
The entire program is designed like a book and was created with guidance from the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The first page is the table of contents, which can be used to launch to any section. Additionally, Katie the Kangaroo (Kid’s Klues mascot) offers essential tips and hints on caregiving. There are even special features for babies under 12 months old.
The plastic pockets that fit into the organizer can store house or car keys; movie rental cards, cash and insurance cards. Several full sheet pockets can hold driving directions; childcare authorization forms, take-out menus and daily activity charts. After everything has been typed and filed, there’s still a last-minute note form as the parent runs out the door!
All parents need Kid’s Klues for three reasons - for the safety of your children, the security of your home and your own sanity. For more information, visit www.kidsklues.com.
